Short Stay
What time can we check in and out? +
Check-in is from 3pm, check-out by 11am. We're flexible where the calendar allows, just ask.
How many guests can stay? +
The house sleeps six in three bedrooms, one king, one queen, twin singles. Day-time visitors are welcome on request.
Is there a minimum stay? +
Minimum stay varies by season, the booking widget will show the minimum for your specific dates.
What's the cancellation policy? +
Full refund up to 14 days before your stay; 50% refund within 14 days. Within 7 days, we hold the booking unless we can re-let your dates.
Is the home pet-friendly? +
We welcome one well-mannered dog on request, with a small additional cleaning fee. Please mention them when you enquire.
Is there parking? +
Yes, off-street parking for two cars behind the house, with on-street parking for additional vehicles.
Do you have wi-fi? +
High-speed fibre throughout the house, strong enough for video calls and remote work from any room.
Private Events
What's the maximum capacity? +
Capacity is shaped around your event. Tell us a little about your group when you enquire and we'll talk through what works.
Do you organise catering? +
Yes, catering and beverages are arranged in-house and tailored to your event. No BYO catering currently.
How far in advance should I book? +
Weekend events are booking 4 – 8 months out, mid-week 6 – 10 weeks. Christmas parties typically close in October.
Can guests stay over after an event? +
Yes, most events book the house overnight too. The home sleeps your closest group, with nearby accommodation arranged for the rest.
How does event pricing work? +
Packaged event pricing is coming soon. In the meantime, send a short note with your date, headcount and the kind of day you're picturing, and we'll come back with a tailored quote.
Shoot Location Hire
Do you have public liability insurance? +
$20m public liability coverage on the venue. We ask your production carries its own policy for crew and talent.
Can we move furniture? +
Most pieces, with care, we ask that you photograph each room on arrival so we can reset together at the end of the day.
Can we bring our own catering? +
No, catering is arranged in-house. The kitchen is otherwise yours during the booking.
What's the cancellation policy for shoots? +
Full refund up to 7 days before; 50% within 7 days. Weather cancellations on the courtyard are rebooked, not refunded.
Can we shoot overnight? +
Add an overnight stay to any shoot booking for $295 (50% off the standard rate). Ideal for early call times.
Market Shelf
Where do you ship? +
Australia-wide. Free shipping on orders over $120 and to anywhere in Victoria. International shipping by request.
How quickly do you ship? +
Orders ship within two business days. Allow 3 – 7 days for delivery depending on your postcode.
Can I add a Market Shelf order to my stay? +
Yes, choose "Add to Stay" at checkout and we'll have it on the counter when you arrive.
Are hampers customisable? +
Standard hampers are pre-curated, but we'll happily build a custom hamper from $150. Send us a note.
Ticketed Events
When do tickets release? +
The first Monday of each month.
What if I can't make a class I've booked? +
Full refund up to 14 days before; transferable to another guest at any time. Within 7 days, tickets become non-refundable.
Can I host my own class at Zalm? +
We host a small program of partnered events each season. Send a short pitch to contact@zalm.com.au.
Do classes include food and drink? +
Most do, the listing tells you what's included. All food & wine classes come with a long lunch or grazing close.
Access & Care
Is the home accessible? +
The ground floor (kitchen, living, courtyard, one bathroom, one bedroom) is step-free. Upstairs bedrooms are reached by a single flight of stairs. We're happy to talk you through specifics, just ask.
Is the house child-friendly? +
Yes, children are welcome with adults. A travel cot, high chair and small kitchen kit are available on request at no charge.
What's your sustainability approach? +
100% renewable electricity, rainwater for the garden, no single-use plastics on the property, and a local-only supply policy on the Market Shelf.
What if something goes wrong during a stay? +
A direct line to the house manager is in your welcome card, call or text any time. Most things are fixed within the hour.
